Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services.
Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.
The Sales Manager also hosts hotel tours, maintains strong customer relationships, participates and may lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and works as a team member with the sales and events staff.
The manager also works closely with operations team and other support staff.
Essential Functions Proactive sales focused on SMERF markets.
Receive, handle, and convert inquiries into meetings, events, and group sales.
Research, develop and execute a yearly sales plan to include target markets (SMERF), prospecting lists, and outbound sales initiatives.
Negotiate and distribute contracts as well as handle and submit payments to include posting charges, cashing checks, taking deposits, and issuing refunds according to company procedures.
Entertain clients and give property tours highlighting the facility's event spaces, F&B outlets, Spa, etc.
as well as available services.
Understand clients' needs and wants and plan events in conjunction with the client.
Meet and greet clients on event dates and supervise as needed working with the Banquet Captain and Food & Beverage Manager to execute events.
Keep updated on current sales trends within the market and the competitive set.
Work with Food & Beverage Manager to establish policy standards, procedures, operational guidelines & service manual.
Qualifications Minimum two years hotel sales experience.
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized.
Prior experience prospecting and networking to gain new business is preferred.
